Hello, world!
I’m Marina Wright, and for the past five years, I’ve dedicated my life and this blog to the principles of zero-waste, sustainable living, and eco-friendly practices. Born and raised in the tranquil haven of Partridge Green, nestled in the heart of Southern England, I’ve always felt a deep-rooted connection with the natural world around me.
As a child, I was more likely to be found playing in the meadows, exploring the forest, or helping in the garden than indoors. I was fascinated by the different birds, the colourful wildflowers, and the way everything in nature seemed to have its place and purpose. This inherent appreciation for the outdoors slowly but surely morphed into a dedication to protecting it.

My journey towards a sustainable lifestyle didn’t happen overnight. It all began when I was just a child, and I found an injured bird in the garden. With the help of my parents, we nursed it back to health and set it free. It was a simple act, yet it left a lasting impression on me. It was my first taste of direct positive action towards nature, and I knew then that it would not be my last.
In my teenage years, I started noticing how our actions could harm nature. The plastic wrapping discarded in the park, the fumes from the cars, and the amount of water and energy we used without a second thought. It troubled me deeply, and I began researching ways I could make a difference. That’s when I stumbled upon the concept of zero-waste living.
Embracing zero waste was a game-changer for me. I realised that every single choice I made, from what I bought to how I disposed of items, had a significant impact on our planet. But more than that, I discovered a community of like-minded individuals who were just as passionate about sustainable living as I was.
I began this blog as a way to document my journey and to share the knowledge I was amassing. My mission was, and still is, to inspire others to join the movement towards a more sustainable future.
Here, on this platform, I not only share my personal experiences and tips for adopting a more eco-friendly lifestyle, but I also provide insights into the latest trends in sustainability, reviews of eco-products, and suggestions for making the most of our beautiful British countryside sustainably.
Living a sustainable life isn’t about perfection. It’s about making better choices, one step at a time, and recognising that we are all part of a larger ecosystem. It’s about co-existing with the natural world in a way that respects and protects it.
So, whether you’re a seasoned zero-waster or you’re just dipping your toes into the world of sustainability, I welcome you. Join me on this journey, as we strive to make a positive difference for our planet.
Let’s create a better future, one eco-friendly choice at a time.
Marina
